We recently completed this Pod Point Solo 3S home EV charger installation in Hillingdon, giving our customer a convenient, reliable and cost-effective way to charge their electric vehicle at home.
The eligible customer was able to benefit from £500 through the Government EV chargepoint grant, helping to reduce the overall cost of purchasing and installing the charger. The grant can cover up to 75% of eligible costs, subject to the scheme rules and the applicant's circumstances.
Support may be available to eligible renters, flat owners, landlords, households using an approved cross-pavement charging solution and qualifying workplaces. We can help you understand the installation requirements before work begins.
A safe installation starts with the electrical supply
Every EV charger installation begins with an assessment of the property's existing electrical supply, earthing arrangements, available capacity and proposed cable route. At this Hillingdon property, the incoming equipment and surrounding installation were carefully reviewed so that the new charger could be connected safely and in accordance with current requirements.
This behind-the-scenes work is just as important as the charger itself. A professional survey helps us identify any preparatory work, select the correct protective equipment and provide the customer with a clear quotation before installation.

Five-year Pod Point warranty
As an approved Pod Point domestic installer, Bas Construction can install eligible Pod Point home chargers with the benefit of a five-year Pod Point warranty, subject to Pod Point's current product, installation and warranty terms. This gives customers valuable manufacturer-backed reassurance after the installation is complete.
Lower-cost overnight charging with EDF
Customers may also be able to reduce their ongoing charging costs through EDF Energy's EV tariffs. EDF currently offers dedicated overnight EV rates, while its Smart Charging option can provide additional bill savings for qualifying customers who allow EDF to manage charging during lower-demand periods.
Tariff prices, eligibility, smart-charging compatibility, credit offers and terms can change, so we recommend checking EDF's current EV tariff information before switching. The right combination of charger, vehicle and overnight tariff can make home charging considerably more economical than relying on many public rapid chargers.
